They both served in Iraq, in the city of Fallujah on 2005, then they went to Ramadi on 2006.
They were working in a dangerous war area, and they got injured in an explosion there.
Leavey went back to the United State and was awarded by the Navy and Marine Corps with the Achievement Medal and the Purple Heart badge.
